Welcome on my website! My name is Heiko and I currently live in The Hague in the Netherlands. The main purpose of this website is to tell something about my background in Artificial Intelligence. I completed both my Bachelor's degree and my Master's degree in Artificial Intelligence at the University of Groningen in the Netherlands. There is also a section about a project in which I created a 3D rendering demo, a project I worked on shorly after finishing my Master's Thesis.
After my graduation I have worked for nearly two years in the gaming-industry, something I dreamt about since the first time I played a videogame (that was Super Mario World on the Super Nintendo). While I achieved my goal of working in the gaming-industry, I did not find the technical challenges I hoped for. Programming videogames is something I still like to do in my free time, but not as a full time day job. Therefore I am now looking for a new challenging job in which I can use my background in Artificial Intelligence, use a more scientific approach while allowing me to further develop my skills. Besides Artificial Intelligence and realtime graphics, I am also interested in parallel computing and photography. In my free time I like doing activities with friends such as going to a bar, going out for dinner, visit a scientific lecture, watch a movie or play a game.
